The Lounge, Stamford Street
Originally an underused bike store, the space previously resembled a concrete shell. Our brief was to transform it into a vibrant and functional area catering to the recreational and study needs of all Stamford Street students (and teachers!). We designed, refurbished, and installed 'The Lounge'—a communal space nestled within Stamford Apartments, with seamless accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The area is now a combination of study nooks and leisure zones, operational round-the-clock to accommodate the diverse needs of the student body. 'The Lounge' has received widespread positivity from both students and faculty at King's College.
Features include;
Bespoke built-in group study pods, with recessed screens for students to share work.
Pairs of high-backed sofas for private conversation & quiet downtime.
Segregated Gaming area, including a Free-to-use Playstation setup and arcade machine.
Designed in-house LED illuminated wall art, acting as a divider for the games room whilst providing ambient lighting for the more open chill area.
Communal feel U-shaped sofa set up for chatting & playing games
